Excursion tour to Lake Baikal in summer 2024, where you will visit the sunny Olkhon Island and explore Irkutsk. Over 6 days, you will stroll through the ancient streets of Irkutsk and see the beauties of Lake Baikal and Olkhon Island.

1 day: Day 1

In the morning at 9:30, we will meet at the airport and the railway station of Irkutsk, get acquainted, and collect our luggage. We will then depart for a city tour. We will visit the founding site of Irkutsk, stroll along the Angara River embankment, and explore the historic quarter. After the tour, we will check into our hotels in Irkutsk. Meals on this day are self-catered.

2 day: Day 2

In the morning, we will depart by minibus to Olkhon Island (280 km). The island is separated from the mainland by a narrow strait, so we will reach it by ferry. Arrival in Khuzhir, the tourist center of the island. Accommodation at a recreation center or hotel (according to the selected accommodation option).

Our first introduction to the island will be a walking tour to the sacred Shamanka Rock. Return to the base, dinner.

3 day: Day 3

After breakfast, you will embark on an exciting excursion to Cape Khoboy, the northern tip of Olkhon Island. In Buryat, "Khoboy" translates to "fang," but many of you will be able to discern the clear outline of a female figure in it. According to legend, this is the wife of a majestic shaman who was turned into a stone block by the gods as punishment for her sins. At Cape Khoboy, you can feel as if you are not just at the edge of the island, but at the edge of the world, with the endless waters of Lake Baikal ahead, making you feel like a small grain of sand in this kingdom of beauty and nature. Full of impressions and emotions, we return to the base. Dinner.

4 day: Day 4

After breakfast, we will embark on a journey through the southeastern part of the island. This trip will give you a comprehensive understanding of Olkhon. We promise you will be amazed at how many surprises the seemingly monotonous steppe holds. The day's program includes secluded bays, a turquoise lagoon, and even a lake called "Heart." On hot July and August days, bring your swimsuits. This day will also feature peculiar rock formations. A stone castle, a trident, and Stalin's profile – you'll see all this and more.

5 day: Day 5

Today, the group sets out on a boat trip across Lake Baikal. We will pass by small Baikal islands as the boat crosses the Small Sea, bringing us to the mainland. From there, we will walk to the Surkhayta healing spring, whose crystal-clear waters are said to cure various ailments. After tasting the healing water and having lunch, we will head to Ogoy Island.

The island is known for the Buddhist Stupa of Enlightenment erected there. Inside the stupa are various Buddhist relics and a bronze statue of the dakini Troma Nagmo, considered the mother of all Buddhas in Tibetan Buddhism. The first Stupa of Enlightenment was built in India at the site where Buddha attained enlightenment. In modern interpretation, the stupa symbolizes the goal of the Buddhist path – the recognition of one's own mind and complete enlightenment. According to legend, if you walk around the stupa three times and make a wish, it will surely come true.

We will then return to the base for dinner.

6 day: Day 6

A free day that you can spend as you wish – there is something for everyone. You can go biking, ride ATVs, take a horseback tour, visit a Buryat village, or stroll along the shores of Lake Baikal – the choice is yours!

7 day: Day 7

Breakfast. Transfer to Irkutsk by buses and minibuses, with a travel time of about 6 hours. There will be a stop at a roadside café (meals are self-catered).

The program ends in Irkutsk (Kirov Square).
